Derry City and Strabane District Council is launching a public consultation

Our partner in Northern Ireland, Derry City and Strabane District Council, has moved one step further in having citizen participation for their Local Development Plan (LDP).

A few months ago, the Council finished the first step of this process of involving local communities in developing a LDP that meets the need of all stakeholders. The Council carried out a public consultation that target different topics that cover the LDP and people could give their feedback for each topic.

On this new stage of the process, after receiving and analysing the feedback of over 5,000 citizens, organisations and businesses, they have come up with a draft version of the Strategic Growth Plan for Derry City & Strabane District. This draft version is now out for consultation so they can ensure that all the needs of the citizens are covered and, also, to refine the consultation results for the final version of the plan.

The consultation process will be open until 15th September 2017 after which the final plan will be published. If you want to know more about this consultation and want to download a copy of the draft Strategic Growth Plan, click here.
