Our Finnish partners, the Regional Council of North Karelia and Karelia University of Applied Sciences, have co-produced a set of e-care communication services consisting of technically advanced solutions that are easy to set-up and use, providing to the implementing organisations with new means to reach their targeted users in an interactive way.
This is the result of a process where they have involved 25 local champions to develop and test services ensuring that it responds to real needs of their community. Among the services implemented we find:
- HUBLET, a loanable tablet device introduced by the North Karelia Regional Library, Vaara Kirjastot. These devices work in the libraries network and are freely meant to be used by the customers.
- Advanced streaming solutions tested by the Martha Organization for example, in carrying out interactive cooking demo sessions for their users. With the help of MEVO-cameras, it is possible to stream events straight to the customer’s own devices.
These services are having a significant impact:
- On the community - providing better accessibility to the different kind of important healthcare information (eServices, information sessions) and a better involvement of citizens in whole North Karelia area
- On the public service providers - offering new technical solutions that allow them to reach more people in scarcely populated North Karelia region and share their knowledge and information to their users in an interactive way.
